Over 167 Years of
Transatlantic Travel
1840-2008
From the staunch Britannia of 1840, to the magnificent Queen Mary 2, one shipping line has stood the test of time and is synonymous with transatlantic travel...Cunard Line. On this page you will find links that celebrate the heritage of Cunard as well as some of its legendary and historic liners.
Bing Crosby, a Cunard regular, would head to the ship's darkroom to escape the crowds. He did this so often that he eventually ended up helping to count and number photographs of passengers taken on board. At the end of the crossing, he would send a crate of beer to the staff in the darkroom to show his appreciation for their company.
